GoFax and ReferralNet: Future-proofing healthcare communications

At
GoFaxwe’re always looking for new, innovative technology that integrates with our own and provides our customers with a wider range of options when faxing. We’re excited to announce our partnership with Global Health’s ReferralNet.

ReferralNet is Australia’s leading secure messaging platform providing a streamlined workflow for the exchange of secure medical documents across the country’s healthcare industry.

By partnering with ReferralNet, we’re able to expand our offerings to new and existing GoFax customers and provide a means for the healthcare industry to not only continue to use fax, but also adapt to the ever-evolving digital era.

Why ReferralNet?

Tigerconnect 2019-2020 report The State of Healthcare Communications found that 90% of healthcare organisations are still using fax machines, with the most common form of communication methods in the industry being phone (81%), email (73%) and fax (46%).

Matthew Cherian, Managing Director of Global Health says that “we recognised there were still blockers in the digital flow of patient data across healthcare providers, due to the slow adoption of secure messaging, interoperability and the continued use of fax machines

Our partnership with ReferralNet allows us to provide the Australian healthcare industry with a way to transition from using a fax machine to using an online fax service. This reduces time and admin costs for most healthcare organisations and allows for fast, secure message transfer of confidential medical documents.

How does it work?

Once a referral is created in your clinical system, the referral is faxed to GoFaxIt’s then converted into a HL7 eReferral through ReferralNet’s cloud services. By converting the referral to a HL7 eReferralthe eReferral can then be received by the recipient through their existing clinical information system.

ReferralNet connects with a wide range of systems including Communicare, Audit4, Cynetics and many more. Your recipient will receive a notification that an eReferral has been sent and will then be able to action this in their system.

What does this mean for existing GoFax customers?

Bradley Davis, CEO of GoLogic Group says that “GoFax customers appreciate the flexibility of a fax solution that adapts to the workflows of a changing healthcare environment.

Our partnership with Global Health will result in a comprehensive communication solution for both GoFax and Global Health customers.”

For existing GoFax customers who are ReferralNet users, connecting ReferralNet to your account is simple.

  1. Login to your GoFax account.

  2. Navigate to ‘API Access’ under ‘My Account’.

  3. Enter your key name and select ‘Add Now’.

  4. An ‘Access Token’ will be generated which allows you to connect your GoFax account with ReferralNet.
