Replace unknown numbers with your business name or a dedicated number, so every SMS you send is instantly recognised, trusted, and acted on. From appointment reminders to order updates, a branded Sender ID puts your identity first.

BUSINESS SMS SENDER ID
What Is an SMS Sender ID?
When a customer receives a text message from your business, the name that appears at the top of the message is your SMS Sender ID.
It might say “GoFax”, “MyBank”, “HealthClinic”, or “ServiceAU”. That short identifier is the first thing your recipient sees, and it shapes whether they open, trust, or ignore your message.
An alphanumeric Sender ID is a custom name made up of letters, or a mix of letters and numbers.
A numeric Sender ID is a dedicated phone number used as your SMS identity.
2026 REQUIREMENTS
Australia’s New SMS Sender ID Register
The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has established a national SMS Sender ID Register as part of the Federal Government’s Fighting Scams initiative. The register is designed to verify that the businesses sending branded SMS messages are who they claim to be, and to stop scammers from impersonating trusted organisations.
- Only Alphanumeric SMS Sender IDs are required to be registered with ACMA.

From 1 July 2026, any message sent with an unregistered Alphanumeric Sender ID will be automatically over-stamped with the label “Unverified” by Australian carrier networks, or may be blocked before it reaches the recipient.
