To ensure use of the most secure encryption standards for communications, the SSL 3.0 and the TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 features of our GoFax SOAP API and the GoFax Desktop Software will be retired from use later this year.
Does this affect me?
If you use the GoFax SOAP API to integrate with GoFax you will need to configure your API integration to only use the TLS 1.2 encryption standard. We recommend your developers review and start implementing any required code changes now.
If you use the GoFax Desktop Software on your PC we will be replacing this with the new GoFax App and we recommend downloading the new GoFax App (Beta version available) and starting testing.
If you are unsure if this affects you, please contact GoFax Support.
What do I need to do?
For API users:
To ensure your fax/SMS integrations with GoFax continue to operate your developers will need to review and update your API integration with GoFax to be configured to only use the TLS 1.2 encryption standard.
Did you know that we have a RESTful API?
GoFax recommends use of our RESTful API for integrations to GoFax. Whilst the SOAP API is currently available, it is a legacy API and will not support new features available in GoFax.
Below is a useful link to the RESTful API swagger page to help with any initial coding or content queries you may have. https://restful-api.gofax.com.au/swagger/ui/index
For Desktop Software users:
To ensure you can continue to conveniently and securely send and receive fax and SMS messages via GoFax from your desktop or mobile device, we recommend downloading the new GoFax App (Beta version available) and starting testing. The new GoFax App will replace our existing Desktop Software and is compatible across Windows, Mac, Android & iOS. A fast, secure, and convenient way to send and receive fax and SMS from anywhere connected to the internet.
If you have any questions regarding the above, please do not hesitate to contact us.
