What is an SMS API?
An SMS API lets your software send and receive text messages automatically, without anyone logging in to a portal. The GoFax SMS API is a REST API. Your system sends a request with a secure token, and GoFax delivers the SMS, tracks its status and collects replies.
What you can do with the GoFax SMS API
Use the API to send appointment reminders, alerts, one-time codes and updates straight from your booking system, CRM or app. Everything you send through the API also shows in your GoFax portal, so your team can see what went out.
Track delivery
Get a status for every message, or set up a webhook so GoFax tells your system when the status changes.
Collect replies
Pull replies into your system through the API. Replies are checked on a schedule you set, as there is no webhook for incoming replies.
Check your credit balance
See how many credits are left so your system can warn you before you run out.
Resend a message
Resend an SMS that failed without rebuilding the request.
Get account details
Check account information and access from your own software.

Sign up for GoFax and buy an SMS credit package. Credits never expire.
2. Create an API token
Log in to the GoFax portal and go to My Account, then API Access. Name your token and set an expiry date of up to 12 months.

Built for developers
The GoFax SMS API is a standard REST API, so it works with any language that can make a web request. Each request uses a secure token.
Send to multiple recipients in international format (for example +61412345678). A standard SMS is 160 characters. Longer messages are split into parts and each part uses one credit.

GoFax was easy to set-up and use
GoFax was easy to set-up and use. I needed to fax tax documents to the US from NZ. GoFax did the trick. It took me less than 40 minutes from researching online fax software to getting my fax sent confirmations. 100 pages for A$15, highly recommended and great value, only problem now is what to do with remaining 96 pages!

Administation is easy - was able to create an email group, populate it, and then advertise that as the desitination for incoming faxes. The sender didn't know the difference! Furthermore, I was able to integrate into the scanning feature of the printer. All the user does is scan their page, creates a PDF and sends off the fax direct from the printer. The users love it and although we get plenty of messages about maintenance an updates, we have never had any problems using GoFax.

Quick, easy and worth doing
Joe was super helpful and his instructions were easy to understand and follow. He had the info at his fingertips and could recall my previous conversations with Natalie so that you didn't have to go through it all again.
